Ibanez GIO Soundgear GSR205 5-String Electric Bass – Gloss Black with Hard Case
 
Full-scale five-string Soundgear bass with low-B range, slim maple neck and dual-pickup configuration
The Ibanez GSR205 is a five-string bass from the GIO Soundgear series, designed around the slim neck and contoured body style associated with Ibanez SR basses. The extended low-B string provides additional range below a conventional four-string bass, making it suitable for rock, metal, funk, contemporary worship, recording and general performance.
This Indonesian-made example appears to date from around 2010 and features the earlier GSR205 specification with an Agathis body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard and 22 frets. Ibanez does not publicly provide definitive serial-number dating, so the year should be considered approximate.
 
Condition:
Excellent overall physical and working condition with no major or structural damage. Fully tested with no functional issues noted; the pickups, controls and output operate properly.
The gloss black body remains very well preserved overall, showing only light surface scratches, fine swirl marks and small cosmetic signs of normal use. The maple neck and headstock are also in very good overall condition, and the chrome bridge, tuners and control knobs remain clean and intact.
The current strings show visible tarnish/corrosion, and some greenish oxidation/residue can be seen around portions of the frets. A fresh set of strings and general fret/fretboard cleaning are recommended before regular use.
