Vintage Polish full-size violin with traditional fittings, bow and fitted hard shell case

Vintage 1975 DEFIL Skrzypce Popularne 4/4 violin, manufactured by Dolnośląska Fabryka Instrumentów Lutniczych (DEFIL) in Lubin, Poland.

The internal label identifies the instrument as a DEFIL violin and indicates a 1975 production year. “Skrzypce Popularne” was DEFIL’s standard factory-produced violin line intended primarily for student, school and amateur use.

This example measures approximately 36 cm through the body and 59 cm overall, confirming it as a standard 4/4 full-size violin.

Condition:

Good overall vintage pre-owned condition with normal cosmetic wear consistent with age and previous use. The violin shows scattered scratches, scuffs, small finish chips and edge wear, particularly around the lower bout and C-bouts, along with normal wear to the pegs, chinrest, tailpiece and other fittings.

No structural damage, major cracks, broken areas or other significant issues were noted. The neck and scroll appear intact, the bridge is in place, and the violin remains substantially complete with all four tuning pegs, four fine tuners and strings installed.

The included bow shows normal cosmetic wear from previous use. The fitted hard shell case has a green velvet interior and shows normal age/use wear.
