Fender Esquire Custom GT (Esquire Telecaster GT) 2003 – Crafted in Korea – Crimson Red Metallic with Racing Stripe / Lace Sensor Bridge Pickup
Rare one-year Korean Esquire with stripped-down single-pickup simplicity, set-neck feel, and strong rock-ready attitude
The Fender Esquire Custom GT is one of the more unusual early-2000s Fender imports and a model you do not see often. Built in Korea as part of Fender’s short-run Esquire Custom series, it takes the Tele-inspired shape and strips it down to the essentials: one bridge humbucker, one volume control, a hardtail string-through bridge, and a slim contoured body designed for fast, straightforward playing. It is a simple, aggressive, no-nonsense guitar that suits rock, punk, alternative, and harder-edged styles especially well.
This example has a great player-focused feel and has been recently restrung and maintained. It plays well with no functional issues, the neck is straight and clean, and the frets are in good shape. The current bridge pickup is a Lace Sensor dual-blade humbucker, giving it a different setup from stock and making it a solid option for players who want something a little less common than the factory configuration.
Condition:
Good overall cosmetic condition / very good playing condition. This guitar has visible cosmetic wear on the front body only, with several paint chips, dings, and surface scratches concentrated around the lower front and bridge area, plus a small ding higher up on the front. The back is comparatively clean overall. The neck is straight, the fingerboard presents well, and the frets show good life remaining. It has been recently restrung and maintained and plays well with no issues. One screw is missing from the rear control cavity / back plate.
