Dual-function boost and overdrive pedal with independent clean boost, dynamic drive response, and classic CAE/MXR design.
The MXR MC402 Boost/Overdrive was developed under the Custom Audio Electronics name, associated with Bob Bradshaw’s pro-level switching and guitar rig systems. It combines two useful gain tools in one pedal: a clean boost section for pushing amps, solos, or other pedals, and an overdrive section for adding warmth, sustain, punch, and gain.
The boost side provides up to +20 dB of clean boost, making it useful as a volume lift, line driver, buffer-style signal helper, or front-end amp pusher. The overdrive side ranges from mild blues-style breakup to heavier crunch, with Output, Tone, and Gain controls for shaping level, brightness, and saturation. The two-footswitch layout makes it easy to use the boost and overdrive independently or together.
This is a practical choice for players who want one sturdy pedal to cover clean boost, always-on drive, lead boost, amp push, classic rock gain, blues overdrive, and heavier rhythm crunch.
Condition
Good used condition with visible cosmetic wear from normal pedalboard use. The casing shows scuffs, scratches, finish wear, and marks around the face, sides, footswitches, and bottom plate. The underside has adhesive/Velcro residue from previous mounting.
No box, power supply, battery, cables, or paperwork included. Pedal only.
